From time to time I have the pleasure to mentor fellow Python developers. I enjoy sharing my experiences and helping others to keep moving and improving. Here are a few examples.

I met Jack through a local initiative which brings together programmers of different levels of experience. Fairly new to software development, he was keen to learn Python. We set up weekly mentoring sessions to answers his questions, discuss future plans and review his progress. At the end of our time together, Jack said:

“Coen has been a fantastic mentor to me over the past 5 months. On a personal level he is incredibly friendly and easy to get along with. He has introduced me to plenty of new concepts and guides me through problems in ways that explain the theory rather than just answering the question.
Our weekly meetings have played a huge role in helping acquire my first software development job. “

Roberto B found me online. New to Python, he was working on a complex problem involving many different parts. He put a lot of effort into his project. Anytime he got seriously stuck he would contact me via email and I would quickly get him moving again. It saved him a lot of frustration and time and he was a pleasure to work with. Roberto told me:

“The arrangement is working very well for me. I’ve learnt a lot and my project has moved forward at a tremendous rate since we started working together.  Thanks for all your advice and help.“
